This article takes up a question raised in the opening address given by Byron and Francine Pirola at the "Renaissance of Marriage" conference held in Sydney, Australia in 2016.

This article gives an example of how 'adolescent romantic formation' could be encouraged. The focus here is mainly on boys and how they can grow in confidence and understanding in their relations with girls.

Why does marriage require greater relationship competence now? How can marriage education reach more people? And how can we develop a strategy to do this?
